The Happiest Place on Earth

Hello friends!

While it's been a month or so since I returned from Orlando, Disney is still swimming in my head.  Disney World is TRULY one of my favourite places in the world. As a Disney Princess obsessed child who grew into a Disney Princess obsessed young lady, I tear up every time I think of Florida and Disney World.  It is really a place where dreams come true!

I was happy to come home, but I look at these pictures and long to be back there!

I thought I'd share a few of my favourite parts of the happiest place on earth, in case any of you haven't been there before or are Disney obsessed like yours truly..

Jamie loves Gaston so I had to snap a picture of his statue ;)

Rapunzel's tower!

My favourite ride, the Haunted Mansion, I also love the film they made that is based on this wonderful ride.

Merida in the parade! One of my most favourite Disney princesses!

This is my favourite shop at Disney World. They sell Christmas ornaments and all things Christmassy. It smells of Christmas trees and cinnamon inside and the shopkeepers are dressed in Victorian outfits. I got a glittering Cinderella ornament as a souvenir.

Magic Kingdom is my favourite of the parks, but Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom are really awesome as well.  They are much less busy and can definitely be done in half a day each if you're selective of what you do there. I have never been to Epcot, and can't say whether or not it would truly interest me because of this fact. One day I will go! It was my last priority on this trip and we simply ran out of time, and energy!

This is Cinderella's carriage from the recent Cinderella film starring Lily James of Downton Abbey. A film that tugged so hard on my heart strings and spoke to my soul!  Oh I do believe I would be Cinderella if I were any Disney princess.

And this is my favourite thing at Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life.

As you can tell, I love Disney. I'm a child at heart, and this place is one of my favourite places on planet earth. I know I will return again in the future, it is just too magical not to.

Love from,

Walpurgis Night Child

Hello friends!

I am just coming off of what seems to be a confusing, hectic, and occasionally delightful time each year.  My birthday, April 30, which coincides with Beltane and Walpurgisnight.

As I've just finished my studies, and the official graduation ceremony will be in June, I have been looking for work.

As many of you know my dream position is in a library, working with books all day.  However, I've landed a wonderful office position working for a great company for the summer.  Jobs are scarce around here and I worried I might have ended up working somewhere that would make me miserable; so I am very pleased to have found such a great opportunity.

The librarian position will come in time.  I have applied for several positions in libraries but they all want 6-12 months library experience and a high school diploma, and don't seem to care about my degree in history (may as well be a degree in library studies for the amount of time I spent in them); nor the years of technological experience on the software they use in the libraries.  It is truly an employers market.  I would love to volunteer in order to get experience but I have to use that time to work, as most people would understand there just aren't an extra 8 hours in the day to volunteer when you work full time.

Alas sometimes the outside world is not such a magical place.  It seems I get this way each year around my birthday, as it always coincides with end of term, or in this case end of studies point blank.

It is a strange feeling of not knowing where you're going in life, which to control freaks like me is very scary.  I suppose we all feel this way sometimes

My birthday, however, was delightful.  I was gifted a fairy wand from my dear friend Natasha; the one who held the Mad Tea Party birthday party a couple of months ago.

It has a rose quartz sphere on one end and an amethyst point on the other.  It is so filled with magic and beauty, I'm in love with it!

I've been lucky to have the last couple of weeks off after finishing my studies, coming home from Florida, and finishing babysitting Remington.  I've found my inspiration once more.  I spend a lot of time browsing Pinterest and Tumblr, and plotting out new creations.  I've been indulging in books once more, it is very difficult to find time to read as a university student.  When you have the time you don't want to read because you've been forced to read 20 chapters of dry, dull material for homework that week.

I've also decided to trim my locks and add in some gold.  My hair looks so short in this picture!  I promise it is still very much long. I am loving having blonde in it!

Last but not least, this was my birthday gift to myself (ok one of several).  I pink sapphire ring surrounded by white sapphires.  I am calling it my fairy princess ring ;)  It is so magical, I can't stop staring at it.  I told Jamie he could replace it someday with an emerald but until then the fairy princess ring stays on my wedding finger hehe!

Oh and I have started a Tumblr blog!  I am not sure how many people use Tumblr but I thought I'd let everyone know in case they were interested in checking it out.

My Tumblr is : Broomsticks & Lace Tumblr

I hope everyone is well, I do hope to be back soon with some pictures from the happiest place on earth!

Lots of love,
